I believe that ambitious growth and long-term success stem from surrounding a founder with world-class support—someone who recognises the value of guidance, collaboration, and constructive challenge throughout their journey.
Background
I’ve been with Mercia since 2017, bringing broad investment experience across various sectors, stages, and geographies. This includes finding new opportunities to invest in, making investments and then working with founders on value creation. I particularly enjoy working closely with management teams and boards to support them on their journey to exit.
As a Fund Principal, I’m responsible for delivering results and overseeing performance across the East Midlands, managing the team from our Nottingham and Milton Keynes bases. I also have a broader role within Mercia Ventures, including being a member of the Investment Committee.
Before joining Mercia, my roles ranged from CEO of a VC-backed business to working in corporate R&D, which has given me valuable operational insights that I bring to supporting Founders, management teams and boards. I have experience from software to life sciences but a long time ago I earned a PhD in Chemistry and remain a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. I passionately believe that success comes from doing the little things right, every time, to tip the scales in our favour to produce outsized returns.
