About
I’m a scientist at heart: I enjoy unpicking how things work and using technology to solve real-world problems. I began in the civil service as a science and technology policy officer, working on how the UK uses data to strengthen emergency response and public services.
That led me into industry at IBM, where I worked across a mix of innovation programmes: from defence sensor systems to VR tools in nuclear power and technology to optimise waste management. The common thread was using complex data and emerging tech to drive better decisions.
In 2021, I joined Mercia to bring that technical grounding into venture investing. In my time here I've been fortunate enough to have led investments, sat on boards and supported through multiple exits. Whilst I still call myself a generalist, I'm most interested at the intersection of software, health and life sciences.
I’m always keen to meet teams tackling meaningful problems with technical depth and a clear route to scale.
I enjoy partnering with founders who have big ambitions, a clear vision and strong self-awareness.
