Building relationships
The best part of this job is meeting founders building something they care deeply about. A good founder can make you see a market differently, and I never get tired of that passion. An early-stage investment is the start of a relationship which lasts years, so building strong, honest connections is the core principle I strive towards.
Previous Experience
I grew up in Manchester and studied Economics at Nottingham before starting out at Nomura in equity finance. From there I moved to Promeritum, an emerging markets hedge fund with a small team, where you saw every part of the fund and conviction with speed was essential.
I was driven to be a more active investor, backing founders early and working alongside them as they build, which took me to London Business School for an MBA and into VC at Redrice Ventures, investing in premium consumer brands from Seed to Series A.
I joined Mercia in 2026 and focus on consumer and health, particularly the brands and technology helping people live healthier, longer lives.
