Background
Owen joined Mercia in November 2025 as part of the Newcastle team and serves as an Investment Manager for the North East Accelerate Fund. In this role, he is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and managing early-stage investments across the North East.
Owen graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc in Business, Accounting and Finance. Following University, Owen trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with PwC in Edinburgh, working in the Audit and Assurance department. Owen relocated back to the North East in 2020 and spent over five years working in corporate finance for an independent firm, supporting owner-managed and private equity-backed businesses. During this time, he specialised in M&A lead advisory services (buy-side and sell-side), financial due diligence, valuations and financial modelling, serving clients across a range of sectors including technology, industrials, and healthcare.
