Building relationships

All good businesses have the same core ingredients: a good team solving a clear problem in the market with a compelling product or service. However, the most important element is always the team. I enjoy working with a diverse range of people and hope to help them achieve their goals.

Background

I grew up in an entrepreneurial family and spent some of my school holidays working for my Dad. It resonated strongly just how crucial the personal touch was to the business and how much getting to know the customer was as important as the solution being offered.

I started my career in professional services recognising early how valuable a qualification could be and what doors it would open. I trained as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton before taking my first steps into Corporate Finance with an M&A role with Ernst & Young.

I have been a professional early-stage equity investor since 2010 and have worked with numerous businesses on their growth journey helping a number to exit. I joined Mercia in 2017 to set up the North East operation and lead the office.
