Building relationships
I am a firm believer that investing is all about relationships – seeking out those founders who balance the passion, vision and drive it takes to succeed but also value trusting relationships and support through the ups and downs of the scale up journey. With strong financial acumen, I thrive on using a data-driven approach to help founders unlock challenges along the scale up journey.
Background
Post school I envisaged becoming a software engineer, learning C++ as part of a Computer Science A-level, however fell in love with Economics, going on to complete an Economics degree at Southampton University. During my second year I completed an internship with EY, working with some of the UK’s biggest financial services businesses.
After graduating I continued at EY qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, before moving into Corporate Finance at Deloitte, working in the turnaround team. In 2019 after 5 years in consulting, I realised a move into venture would suit my glass half full mentality, joining Wealth Club where I worked with over 20 technology businesses supporting fundraises of £0.5m-£2m – primarily across B2B software but also in D2C technology and healthcare.
I joined Mercia in 2021 and have been involved with 6 companies. I am focused on B2B software and D2C technology, particularly focusing on purpose led businesses, supporting their growth at the Series A stage and beyond.
I am a firm believer that investing is all about relationships.
